CalendarNo events currently scheduled. You are invited to worship the Lord with The Church of God of Cumberland Valley. Jesus should be part of your life, for life is not complete without Him. He understands you, your life, your hopes, your plans, your ambitions, your problems, and He wants to be your best friend. He knows what it is like to be human for He was human just like you. Matthew 9:36 "But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd." Jesus understands the human and how prone the flesh is to be influenced by evil. That's why He invites you to let Him be your shepherd. He will guide you into good pasture that will feed your soul and fulfill the needs of your inner being. Nothing can satisfy the need of your soul except Jesus Christ. No amount of money, alcohol, drugs, entertainment, or earthly pleasure can really satisfy the needs of mankind. Jesus invites you to be His child. He offers forgiveness for sin and power to live a righteous, godly life in this present world. ( Titus 2:11-12 "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. Teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.") Matthew 11:28-30 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." In Luke 19:1-10 is a story of a man named Zacchaeus. Now Zacchaeus was a tax collector that had a bad reputation. His neighbors did not think very highly of him for they knew that he was a cheat. They considered him to be the worst kind of a person and avoided him as much as possible. Now when Jesus came by that day and saw Zaccaeus' climbing a tree to get a look at the Lord, Jesus went to Zacchaeus' house to visit him. The religious people that were standing around became very upset that Jesus would go to visit a man that was a sinner. Jesus used the setting to explain that He came into this world to seek and to save that which was lost. Zacchaeus accepted the Lord that day, and his life was never the same after that. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, your life too will never be the same. In my years as a minister, I have seen many people take Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, and I have never known of even one of them to regret it. At the same time, I have seen many people reject Jesus and express their sorrow over and over again. To me, it makes no sense at all to reject a life that has a one hundred percent success record. If I our our congregation can help you in any way, please feel free to call upon us. We have committed ourselves to our Lord and desire to do those things that will encourage others to serve Him and enjoy His blessings upon their lives. Counseling, home Bible Study, and other services are available upon request. Our prayer is that you will do your best to serve Jesus Christ as your Lord. May God bless you in your efforts. |
